About Us
Our story
Tia’s Maths Tutoring started from Tia’s own experience at school. She didn’t always get on with traditional teaching methods and ended up teaching herself a lot of maths. That’s actually where her love for the subject started, eventually leading her to study Mathematics at university and train to become a maths teacher.
While working in schools, Tia started tutoring on the side, driving to families’ homes after work to give their children one to one support. Word spread, more students started coming to her, and eventually it made more sense to have a space of her own.
She began renting a room at Aim Sky High, an organisation run by a close friend and mentor that already had a strong focus on supporting young people. Since then, Tia has turned the space into a warm, relaxed place where students can feel comfortable, enjoy learning maths and see real progress at school.

Our Approach
At Tia’s Maths Tutoring, we believe students do their best when they feel confident, supported and understood. Sessions are shaped around the individual, giving students the space to ask questions, make mistakes and learn maths in a way that makes sense to them.
Our support also goes beyond maths. We focus on confidence and mindset, and take extra care to support young people who may not always thrive in a traditional school environment, including students with SEND and SEMH needs.
Through tutoring, mentoring and connections within the wider community, we want to help more young people feel positive about learning, access new opportunities and reach their potential.
